Papaya

Papayas are believed to have originated in southern Mexico and Central America but are now found in tropical climates worldwide. They grow from a large, sparsely branched tree-like herb that can reach six to ten feet tall. Known as “tree melons” by early Europeans, papayas are technically berries due to their seeds and central seed cavity.
