Pine Nut

Pine nuts are widely used in baking, pastas, sauces, and European cuisines. The two principal types are Chinese or Korean pine nuts (Pinus koraiensis) and Mediterranean or Stone pine nuts (Pinus pinea).

  • Used in pesto, pasta, baking, and as a salad topper
  • Sweet, buttery flavor
  • High in oleic acid, which helps lower “bad cholesterol” (LDL) and increase “good cholesterol” (HDL)
  • Rich in antioxidants and vitamins E and B-complex
